In this work from the Zen City series, the central circular form evokes the hard disk platter of a computer, a symbolic container of memory and data. At first glance, the image appears entirely mechanical, but upon closer observation, its surface is composed of botanical fragments—reflections of leaves, petals, and natural textures captured and reconstructed using my Pixel Montage technique. The mirrored surface suggests both physical reflection and conceptual introspection.
The interplay between the organic material and the technological structure questions how we store, process, and interpret memory. The surrounding elements, with their grid-like precision and circuitry-inspired lines, reinforce the illusion of a machine interior, while still rooted in organic origins. By embedding living material into the structure of digital metaphors, the work bridges the inner spaces of machines and the living environments we inhabit.
This piece invites the viewer to reflect on the nature of memory—how it is stored not only in devices, but also in bodies, places, and moments. The image becomes a metaphorical storage device, rich with layered histories, sensations, and natural rhythms, asking us to reconsider where information truly lives.
