This work from the Zen City series features a striking contrast of vibrant orange, red, and green tones, resembling the internal circuitry of a device glowing with energy. The bold, rectangular green block in the center appears like a memory chip or integrated circuit, set against a complex field of connections and soldered joints. Created entirely through my Pixel Montage technique, the composition is made from thousands of botanical photographs—petals, stems, and plant matter—layered and arranged to simulate the appearance of high-tech structure.
The rich, fiery background seems to pulse with heat and signal, while the green chip stands out like a central brain or processing unit. The visual tension between color fields symbolizes the dynamic interplay between logic and vitality, function and emotion.
Through this piece, I explore the idea that even the most mechanical systems are built upon a foundation of natural order and energy. The intense coloration, derived from flowers and foliage, brings warmth to what is typically perceived as cold machinery. The work invites contemplation on the emotional and sensory dimensions of technology, and how life—both human and botanical—resonates within systems we often think of as purely artificial.
