This image from the Zen City series focuses on the vibrant network of multi-colored wires—suggestive of a central nervous system within a machine. Created with my Pixel Montage technique, the image is constructed from botanical photographs carefully layered and cut to evoke an intricate wiring diagram. The composition pulses with energy, rhythm, and organized chaos, mirroring the unseen connections in both natural and technological systems.
The multicolored lines, reminiscent of blood vessels or plant roots, suggest the transmission of information or life force. While visually resembling an internal structure of a computer or mechanical device, the source material is entirely organic—photographs of plant stems, petals, and fibers. The vibrant palette adds a sense of movement, like energy flowing through invisible channels.
By using natural images to represent an artificial structure, this piece highlights the often-overlooked similarities between organic and man-made networks. It also evokes questions about what is “alive” in a digital age—where wires transmit not only electricity but memory, emotion, and thought. The image functions as both a circuit and a living diagram, asking the viewer to reconsider what constitutes connection, system, and life itself.
